What an exciting, exhausting and utterly exhilarating few weeks it has been for the Baby Globetrotter clan, crossing the Atlantic from Abu Dhabi to Orlando, via Doha and Miami. We have battled ultra long-haul travel, US security, jet lag, hotel plumbing leaks, car journeys, theme park queues, car parks, discounted shopping, lost toddlers, lost toys, broken iPads, thrill rides and made it back to the UAE, mostly intact.
There is so much to share with you about our long distance adventure, the good the bad and a little bit of ugly from the world of family travel but as always for this full-time mum (part time blogger, cook, nurse, share trader, accountant, treasurer and taxi driver) it will take me a little time to get all the details posted up to the website so bear with me over the next few weeks while I collate all the adventures and advice into some bite sized chunks for your reading pleasure.
Coming up soon to the blog will also be “Fly Away May” – a month dedicated to airline travel for families, including a super detailed guide to travelling with bumps to kids on the world’s biggest international airlines, an insight into some unexpected dangers of flying for families with allergies and the comical tale of our recent 16 hour non-stop flight with three kids under six.
I hope those of you who travelled over the Spring Break had an enjoyable and some what restful time. Please feel free to share your adventures with Our Globetrotters readers too – we’d love to know your top destinations this year and what made them so good for your family.
